In the 23 round with the 704 pick the Braves drafted UTPB sophomore Evan Gattis.

Rawlings has been the longtime sponsor of the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region and All-American teams. The Rawlings Gold Glove has been the standard for outstanding defensive play in the Major Leagues for the past 52 years. The semi-final, elimination game had its first pitch at 12:22 a.m. in Warrensburg, Mo., and did not end until 3:13 a.m.  ACU earlier had defeated St. Mary&rsquo;s in 13 innings to reach this point.  The Wildcats now will contest unbeaten and first seeded Central Missouri for the right to advance to the Division II championship tournament.  Incarnate Word ended its season with a school record 42 wins against 18 losses. ]]></description><enclosure url="http://www.heartlandsports.org/images/2010/2/20/rp_primary_HamiltonBatting.jpg" length="93829" type="image/jpg" /><pubDate>Tue, 18 May 2010 08:16:04 GMT</pubDate></item><item><title>Abilene Christian Defeats St. Mary's Baseball, 9-8 in 13 Innings at South Central Regional </title><link>http://www.heartlandsports.org/news/2010/5/18/BSB_0518102127.aspx</link><description><![CDATA[<img src="http://www.heartlandsports.org/images/2010/3/19/rp_primary_CisnerosJonathon09TAMIU5.jpg" /><br /><br />Ryan Luckie's RBI single in the top of the 13th inning was the difference as seventh-ranked Abilene Christian University rallied to defeat 30th-ranked St. Mary's University, 9-8, at the NCAA South Central Region Tournament at Crane Stadium.

The game went back-and-forth with three lead changes and four ties, before the Wildcats finally took the lead for good in the 13th inning. The game was the longest of the season for the Rattlers, lasting 4:12. Maldonado (Sr., Laredo, Texas) was the Rattlers top starting pitcher, going 8-6 with a 2.91 ERA, 10 complete games and 2 shutouts in 102.0 innings of work. Opposing batters hit just .244 against him this season. He had 10 complete games in 16 starts this season. In the first round UIW defeated Emporia State.  Friday night Incarnate Word won 5-4 over Abilene Christian, the nation&rsquo;s number seven squad.  Next up is a 3:30 p.m. meeting on Saturday against host Central Missouri, the number three team in the entire nation.  These two are the only teams remaining undefeated in the double-elimination affair in Warrensburg, Mo. With the victory, St. Mary's is now 40-18 this season, while UNO finished the 2010 season at 32-20. With the 6-1 win over number three seed Emporia State the number four Cardinals are in the winner&rsquo;s bracket for the first time in three regional tries.  Now UIW will meet number two seed Abilene Christian at 7 p.m. on Friday in Warrensburg, Mo.
