Against East Central, St. Edward&rsquo;s swept the Lady Tigers in three games, 25-17, 25-10, and 25-17. Facing Central Oklahoma in the wrap up of the tournament, the Hilltoppers fell in five close matches, 25-27, 25-12, 25-12, 21-25, and 12-15.

After dropping their first set of the day, DBU won six consecutive sets, as they defeated Eastern New Mexico, 3-1, and East Central, 3-0. It was great effort, to be sure, but all but reactive for the Rattlers these days.

St. Mary&rsquo;s opened the 2010 season with a blistering 3-0 sweep of Southwestern Oklahoma State University, winning 25-15, 25-20 and 25-14 before a lively home crowd at the St. Mary&rsquo;s Invitational. ]]></description><enclosure url="http://www.heartlandsports.org/images/2009/7/20/rp_primary_heartland_news.jpg" length="75289" type="image/jpg" /><pubDate>Fri, 03 Sep 2010 10:47:56 GMT</pubDate></item><item><title>DBU Lady Patriot Volleyball Partners with FCA </title><link>http://www.heartlandsports.org/news/2010/9/2/WVBALL_0902103906.aspx</link><description><![CDATA[<img src="http://www.heartlandsports.org/images/2010/9/2/rp_primary_disd_001.jpg" /><br /><br />The Dallas Baptist University Lady Patriot Volleyball Team partnered with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes to take part in a service project with the Dallas Independent School District on Saturday, August 28.  Over 205 middle school girls from DISD participated in the instructional clinic, free of charge, held at the Kincaid Fieldhouse in Dallas.

The Lady Patriots taught volleyball skills to campers through different stations in the gym, but were also afforded the opportunity to share their faith athletes. There will be seven teams fighting for the conference championship during the 2010 season.  Picked to finish second and third respectively is Dallas Baptist and Texas-Permian Basin.
